How to avoid most common and dangerous passwords?

According to a Survey, 79% of internet users use risky passwords, such as their personal information that is know to many people or common words. Here are some examples of most commonly used passwords.

The Survey also says that majority of the passwords are upto 6-7 characters that is also a bad practice. Citing NASA Guidelines, it is recommended that all passwords should be at least eight characters, and contain a mix of four different types of characters i-e UPPER CASE LETTERS, lower case letters, 1234567890 (numerals) and *&^%$#@!~ (special characters).

Another good idea is that if you are using common words in password, try to replace '0' with '0' (Zero), 'E' with '3' and 'a' with '@' e-g instead of 'iloveyou', it can be '!l0v3y0u'.

1) If possible, try to use atleast 14 characters.

2) The greater the variaty of characters in your password, the better.

3) Test your password with a password checker.

4) Take a sentence and turn it into password like "We have won the match" might become "W3hWONtm". Here we used 'W3' for 'We', 'h' for 'have', 'WON' for 'won' and 'tm' for 'the match'.

Cyber criminals use sophisticated tools that can rapidly figure out your password so try to avoid following types of password.

1) Usage of dictionary words in any language.

2) Words spelled backwards, abbreviations and common misspellings.

3) Personal Information like your name, birthday, driver's lisence, etc.

The Minaret of Jam, Afghanistan

The Minaret of Jam is located in Ghor Province of Western Afghanistan, by the Hari River. It is a 65-meter high minaret and is surrounded by mountains that reach up to 2400 meters. It was built in circa 119s with baked-bricks. It is famous for its tile decoration which consists of kufic and naskhi calligraphy, geometric patterns and verses from Surah Maryam of Qur'an. It was declared as first UNESCO World Heritage site in Afghanistan.

The Minaret of Jam was lost in sands of times for centuries until rediscovered in 1886 by Afghan Boundary Commission and then came into world's attention in 1957 through the work of French Archaeologists. It is said as a direct inspiration of Qutub Minar in Delhi, India. It is also the second-tallest brick minaret in world after the Qutub Minar of Delhi.

There are around 60 Minarets and Towers in central Asia, Iran and Afghanistan built between the 11th and 13th Centuries. The Minarets are thought to be symbols of Islam's Victory.

Other archaeological Landscapes around Jam are the ruins of a palace, Fortifications and a Jewish Cemetry. All these are said to be remains of the lost city of Turquoise Mountain. As the Minaret of Jam is located near Hari and Jam Rivers, it has been threatened by erosion and floods. Frequent Earthquakes and illegal excavations by locals and other looters have also damaged the surroundings of the Minaret and the it has now started to lean, but restoration work is in progress to halt this danger.

World has been on the verge of change, social networking websites(SNS) such as facebook, linkedin, myspace, and twitter are changing lives of hundred of thousands of people around the globe. Alhambra, Spain

One of the marvels of the middle ages Al Hambra still stands tall in Spain. Near the city of Granada the beautiful building was constructed by the Muslim rulers of Spain. The Spanish governors Yusuf I (1333-1353) and Mohammed V (1353-1391) have the most of the share in the Al-Hambra. There are many rooms in the building all opening into the central open hall. A 10 KM canal was constructed from the nearby river Darro to maintain water supply in the building. There are several fountains in the building to add to the beauty of the building. On the artistic front, Al-Hambra is also not lagging back, all the building is filled with Muslim sculpture, with various poems in all the building. Al-Hambra lost its importance in 17th century and there was a danger of this great site being lost in the sands of the time, but in early 19th century it was rediscovered and repaired since then its been maintained properly and now generating a good amount of money for Spain as one of their most appealing tourist attractions. Al-Hambra is also a UNESCO world heritage site.

What is IQ?

Albert Mathieu, a French engineer in 1802 proposed the idea of an under the sea tunnel that would connect France with England. The dream came true as late as 1994, when not only the tunnel was made but the first public journey was also made through it.

The idea of a tunnel was so many times picked and then dropped due to several reasons, but after World War II the idea was again hot news as to ensure the rapid defense ties between Great Briton and France. It was considered that these two countries could use the tunnel for rapid force aid in case of a war by any third county, but in 1955 the idea was almost dropped due to the role of Air force in the modern warfare. In early 80s the idea was again picked up with more enthusiasm.

The tunnel consists of three tubes, both side tunnels are used for rail services with a single rail road on tube, whereas the middle tube acts as an emergency rail service and is used for only emergency purposes like fires and emergency evacuation. The wonder tunnel is not only used for passenger travel but also for the transportation of goods and commodities. Even the passengers are given the facility to travel with their cars across the English Channel.

The History of Marathon

The word Marathon race has been heard and read many a times by us in various electronic and print media. Some people might have participated in it too. These are long distance running events in which usually a distance of 42.195 KMs is run by the participants. Marathon races were organized at first to pay tribute to an ancient Greek Hero Pheidippides.

Pheidippides born 530 BC, was a Greek Soldier taking part in the battle of marathon, fought between the Greeks and Persians in 490 BC. Phedippides was first asked to go to Sparta for an aid request, some 240 KM away from the battle field, and the soldier covered the distance in mere two days. He came back and fought against the Persians. After winning the battle the commanders again ordered him to go to Athens and tell the news to the local populace as well as the senate. Pheidippides again ran towards the Athens and when he reached the city, he shouted the words "WE HAVE WON".

Immediately in front of crowd he collapsed and never stood again. He died on the spot, the Greeks gave him the status of a Hero. Several statues were made and in his memorial they started organizing a long distance running even, which even now exists in the form of Marathon Races all over the world.

From then till now, its decleared one of the most beautiful places on earth. It is also declared a Peruvian Historical Sanctuary as well as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Three Sisters, New South Wales, Australia

It is neither a story of some village girls nor a movie having Angelina Jolie, Jolia Roberts and Pamela Anderson. Its a famous rock formation in the Blue Mountains of New South Wales, Australia. These three rocks are named as Meehni, Wimlah and Gunnedoo.
