Dennis Ritchie, the father of C and Unix died.


October 2011 has been very tough on computing experts and lovers as first the shocking news of Steve Jobs' death followed by the death of another computer genius Dennis Ritchie. Born in New york on 9th September 1941, where his father was a scientist in computing field. 

After completing his education from Harverd University, Dennis was hired in Bell Labs research centre where he met another genius in shape of Ken Thompson and both were the founders of the UNIX operating system in 1971. Dennis Richie has gained most of him fame from creating and developing C language one of the main computer programming languages used even today.

C language and UNIX has been very influencial in mostly all of the computer programs. Modern computing is in this form because of the major contribution of Dennis Ritchie, even without Dennis Ritchie there would be no Jobs, as Jobs' main inventions has been based on the C language.

Dennis was found dead on October 12, 2011 in new jersey. He has been awarded with turning award 1983 and with national medal of technology in 1999.
